Cubs starter Tom Gorzelanny was lifted for pinch-hitter Chad Tracy to lead off the third inning on Saturday after getting hit on his left shoulder by a line drive off the bat of Astros first baseman Pedro Feliz in the top of the frame.
Feliz was retired on the play when the ball deflected to first baseman Derrek Lee. Gorzelanny stayed in to complete the inning, getting Carlos Lee to fly out to deep left for the final out.
Gorzelanny left with the Cubs trailing 2-0, allowing those two runs on three hits in three innings with a walk and no strikeouts.
Gorzelanny's spot in the rotation is tenuous with the return of Ted Lilly likely in a week. Gorzelanny or Carlos Silva are the likely candidates to move to the bullpen when Lilly comes back from injury.
