Cubs Trade Rumors Prior Plans to be ready by Opening Day, wants to stay a Cub August 26 Chicago Sun-Times: "Cubs pitcher Mark Prior said he probably won't be ready to start spring training at full strength but plans to be ready to pitch by Opening Day next year and made it clear he wants to do that in a Cubs uniform -- even though it's unclear where he would fit in a Cubs rotation."

Prior eyes return by Opening Day 2008 August 26 Daily Herald: "Prior is making $3.575 million this year on the major-league disabled list. He is arbitration-eligible this winter, and the Cubs likely will tender him a contract. If Prior is on a major-league roster all of next year, he will have enough service time to become a free agent in the fall of '08."

Boy could we use Prior and Wood to get back to where they were a few short years ago.

We keep hoping but at least the have started Wood back as a middle reliever to start with. There is no question that a few years ago they two of the most dominate pitchers in the league.
